The Thrills of Thailand
Thailand is full of many experiences, with so much to see and so much more to do. They don’t call it the Land of Smiles for nothing, after all. You may find the sights and wide range of activities a little overwhelming, or at the very least, you may struggle to find the right place to start. Fear not! We have assembled but a handful of wonderous things to do in Thailand to inspire your trip.
Bangkok is a wonderous city that offers its tourists so much variation that you’ll never truly be bored, but the first vital step is finding the perfect place to stay while you’re there.
The Mandarin Oriental Hotel sits in the very heart of Thailand’s capital, Bangkok. This hotel offers a truly luxurious stay directly on the Chao Phraya River.
During your stay here you will be greeted with glorious décor similar to the roaring 20s when in open indoor areas for such purposed as dining and general lunge areas. Elsewhere, you will be met by décor perfect for relaxing by the pool or even comforting areas perfect for a well-needed spa day. If you’re looking for luxury, this is the place to go.
The apartments you will find yourself staying in are the most luxurious you will find. Structured so that you have everything you may need or even want, this is a true home away from home. You need not even leave the hotel resort if you are that way inclined. With such a beautiful luxury apartment suite to stay in, all inclusive dining, and even a spa; you’ve got everything you could possibly desire for a relaxing break. But those beautiful sights out there won’t see themselves…
Outside of this beautiful hotel there is a whole world’s worth of stunning sights to see. While there is a great amount of activities and memories to be made within the capital itself, we recommend venturing outside of the capital to witness some history.
Visit the Grand Temple of Thailand to see an absolute triumph in architectural design, as well as witnessing history stand right before your eyes.
Built in the year 1782, and for 150 years, was the home of the Thai King, the Royal court, and the administrative seat of government. This is undoubtedly the grand landmark of Thailand, offering a true triumph of historical architecture that blends many styles and colours together to make an absolute masterpiece. To go to Thailand and not visit the Grand Temple would be a true missed opportunity.
Another beautiful landmark of history that you simply do not want to miss out on while in Thailand is the Wat Pho Temple.
Completed around the year 1656, this temple has been the home of medicinal teachings since the mid-19th century. Since then, it has remained the home of all traditional medical teachings to this very day, where a private school for Thai medicine founded in 1957 still operates.
Again, the Wat Pho Temple’s very design is wonderous enough without its historical ties to medicine. The design is one of true beauty with differing patterns galore, all coming together to create an amalgam of mismatches that blend together in a way that only the human can appreciate fully.
Of course you can always appreciate the historical landmark right on your doorstep if you wish to simply stay in luxury. The Chao Phraya River has a life and beauty of its own that cannot be missed when there.
