Luxury Getaway Guide : Bali

Bali is one of the most visited destinations in Indonesia with travellers from all over the world head to this magnificent Asian destination every year. But what does this island have that attracts the masses so much? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered!

Bali is notoriously the perfect place for everything, and that's the key! Whether you are a backpacker in search of special corners and with adventure, a tourist looking for the charm of the island or a person looking to investigate their spirituality and connection with mother earth, or you simply want to sit back and relax. All you need to know is that Bali can show you all of that and more!

Resorts to be in contact with nature and the roots

When visiting Bali, one simply must take one of those dreamy rooms with views to die for of a beautiful green landscape. We recommend Capella Ubud Bali. It is the luxury of Mother Nature and has tented rooms with incredible views as well as more than perfect utilities. They also have restaurants and services to make your stay a dream come true.

Connect with your inner self at the Wellness Retreats

Bali, in addition to being known for its landscapes and culture, is well known for its spirituality. In fact, it is called "The island of Gods" for a reason, and that is due to the energy that these lands have that is considered to be sacred. For that reason there are many people who travel to Bali to do retreats, yoga, meditation, relax in a natural spa. Doesn't sound bad at all, does it?

 The palate

There is truly something for everyone, and you can try as many different foods and combinations thereof to your heart’s content! Whether you desire the finest meats or have made a vow of veganism, there is something for everyone to tuck in to. Rest assured that after whatever activities you get up to, you will be eating good every evening with palates that will melt on your tongue and make you think you’re eating feasts from the heavens!

After a yoga session or a good massage, what does your body ask of you? Because we can't think of a better plan than a tasty meal in a good restaurant. Balinese cuisine is a mixture of flavours from different countries, China, India, the Middle East Can you imagine having all these flavours in one? Well, that's how Indonesian cuisine was born. The main bases are rice and fried noodles and these are accompanied with meat, vegetables and local spices. In addition, one of the strongest points of its gastronomy is fruit, Bali has a wide variety of exotic fruits that are not found in Europe, such as dragon fruit.

We recommend the following luxury restaurants to enjoy a good delicacy:

- Locavore Bali

- Sarong

- Kubu at Mandapa

- W Seminyak

- The Mulia Bali

- The Samaya Ubud

The Cruise-trip

Another of the experiences that you have to live if you are in Bali is to do a Cruise Trip. Bali is beautiful but you have other nearby islands that are certainly an experience to live if you are there. Bali Hai Cruises gives you the option to rent this service and be able to visit islands such as Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, Gili Islands among others and carry out relaxation activities or adventures to enjoy the thousand faces that Bali has.

Shop Art

For a trip to be truly complete, you need a bit of everything good, food, views, activities, relaxation and Shopping. In this case we recommend that you buy the local, and that there is more local than art? Bali has local artists who make figures from different materials carved by hand, the pieces mostly represent the spiritual figures of the Indonesian culture such as Buddha. Undoubtedly a great specimen to decorate your living room.

A Luxury Guide to Paris

Paris has a reputation for being a romantic city, that's why it’s frequently dubbed the City of Love in addition to the City of Light. Neither of these descriptions does it justice though. Paris is so much more than this so it’s tough to describe it in just a phrase. Paris is elegant, chic, rich in history, has a wide culture, exquisite arts, cuisine, fashion, enjoyment, and luxury. There are cafes, gardens, museums, farmers markets, libraries nightlife, and plenty more entertainment options. In today’s blog, we are going to dive you into a few recommendations that you can not miss in Paris, a bit of gastronomy, places to not miss, and a lot of fashion!

All About Shopping

As a luxury shopping destination, Paris is like nowhere else in the world to enjoy the purest source of the greatest fashion designers, such as Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, Jaquemus, and France’s very own Coco Chanel, Rue Saint-Honoré is the go-to place. In fact, this vicinity of Paris is one of the most upmarket retail locations in Europe.

The labyrinth of alleyways discovered at Marché aux Puces de Saint-Ouen collectively shape the most important antiques and second-hand marketplaces in the world. Over seven hundred traders promote furniture, works of art, and an entire host of strange and exceptional nick nacks to ignite the collector that is inside you!

Located in Paris’ 2nd arrondissement, the Galerie Vivienne is a paradise of boutiques. Along the 176 meters of lengthy walkway, you will discover the flagship keep of Jean-Paul Gaultier, and Les Caves Legrand, one of the very first wine shops in Paris, Sante!

What to Wear in Paris?

Bon Appetit

When talking about the culture of a country, it is impossible not to speak about food and Paris may be the city of love but its abundance of patisseries and Michelin restaurants will make anyone salivate. Visit the city’s markets where you can find a variety of fresh and local products, it’s a must. From plenty of fresh vegetables, fruit, nuts and of course... Cheese, I hope you are a Cheese lover because then you are going to have fun! Enjoy a “French Apéritif” with your friends. Have fun in any of the French food festivals in Paris. For many, to be French means that one has French citizenship and exhibits the behaviors and ideals integral to French culture. For example, the ideals expressed in the national motto of « Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité » (« Liberty, Equality, Fraternity ») are typically synonymous with Frenchness.

In France, cinema, theater, and other forms of art are still widely enjoyed despite the decline in attendance. Many hobbies, professions, and daily activities revolve around art. Meals are often prepared and eaten slowly as a way to acknowledge and enjoy the creation.

Christmas in London 2021

And in a blink of an eye, it is almost Christmas again. But after a whirlwind of a year, we are sure everyone is looking forward to celebrating the festive season more than ever. London gets into the festive spirit at Christmas, with all kinds of Christmas markets, theatre, and, of course, the world-famous Christmas lights.

Having lived in London for over 6 years nows, I've explored and experienced the best activities for the winter festivities… I’ve put together an insider's guide to make the most of your trip.

Christmas Markets

From the big daddy of Christmas markets: Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park to the more relaxed Winterville in Clapham Common – there are plenty of spots to do pre-Christmas shopping, slurp up mulled wine and eat all the Christmassy sweet treats that you could ask for.

Afternoon Tea

In my opinion, everyone should experience a swanky afternoon tea at least once in their lifetime. We recommend Claridges or The Ritz (the latter is my fave), it makes a perfect escape from the cold. Indulge in some exotic teas, classic finger sandwiches, and delicious fresh scones with clotted cream in glamorous surroundings.

Ice Skating

You know it’s almost Christmas in London when ice-skating rinks start popping up. The definition of festive fun, tie up your skates and wrap up warm! Ice skating is one of my favourite Christmas activities; there’s just something wonderfully romantic, festive, and fun about it. The venues are brilliantly decorated and all lit up in almost a fairytale-esque way! The Natural History Museum or Somerset House are my top choices!

Christmas Lights

Nothing signifies the approach of Christmas like the glow of seasonal street lights. As the nights get darker the lights truly light up the capital, and the great thing about the London Christmas lights is that they are completely and utterly free. Head over to Oxford St, Regent St, and Carnaby St to keep your holiday spirits high.

West End Pantomime

With theatres reopen and the lockdown cobwebs brushed away, a trip to the pantomime is a classic Christmas activity for families. London plays host to some of the best Christmas shows in the UK, from star-studded traditional pantos to modern twists there is a show for you. Be quick, seats are selling fast!

Shopping

Whether you prefer strolling through pop-up holiday bazaars or spending a full day at Harrod’s, this shopping capital has something for everyone on your list. I recommend making a trip to Liberty London to pick out unique beautiful gifts or head over to Dover Street Market to shop for innovative fashion-forward brands.

Winter Terrace

Among the many things London does exceptionally well is winter terraces. In between ice skating, shopping, and the general chaos that comes with the festive season, one of the best ways to spend Christmas in London is curled up somewhere warm with a glass of mulled wine. The capital is full of picturesque alfresco dining and drinking destinations.

So, there we are – the most fun things to do in London at Christmas. We want to make sure you have the Christmas you deserve, go forth and eat all the mince pies, washed down with lashings of mulled wine.
