Get the Parisian Chic Look: Tips on Styling Like Emily in Paris

During these challenging times, we all needed a break from reality and a place to unwind and have fun. For me, that place was my cozy green velvet couch where I could escape to Paris with Emily. The release of the second part of Emily In Paris last year on December 22nd was the perfect opportunity to spend the day at home and watch Lilly Collins dazzling the streets of Paris in her exquisite outfits styled by the legendary Patricia Field.

Fashion enthusiasts may recognize the name Patricia Field as the wardrobe designer for Sex and the City and the recent series, And Just Like That. It's no surprise that the characters in Emily in Paris have equally iconic styles.

If you're a fan of the show, the Twenty4SevenTrends team has some total look proposals that we think you'll love. Check them out and enjoy your new Parisian-inspired style!

EMILY

I absolutely love the fashion in that series! There are so many gorgeous outfits, but one of my favorite characters is Emily, played by Lily Collins. She always has such bold and dramatic looks that are sometimes edging on tacky, but she somehow makes it all look chic. The main protagonist isn't afraid to experiment either, wearing standout pieces like tulle couture gowns, neon outerwear, fingerless gloves, and oversized frames. Some might say her fashion is absurd, but I think she has created a unique signature style that fans adore.

I absolutely agree, Emily's outfits are simply amazing! They are so full of life and color, and they make me feel like I'm walking down the streets of Paris. Fashion truly has the ability to transport us to another world and inspire us to dream big. I'm so excited to share some suggestions with you on how to get that stylish Emily look, no matter where you are in the world. Let's get started!

Emily Inspired Product Suggestions

SYLVIE

Sylvie is truly a remarkable character, portrayed impeccably by Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu. Her persona exudes sophistication and style that is synonymous with French fashion. It is hard not to notice her powerful presence, a true representation of an empowered woman who is not afraid to take on the world. Her attire is always on point, and her Louboutin heels add a touch of elegance to her already chic outfits. She is the epitome of a woman who is bold, fearless, and always dressed to impress. Sylvie reminds me of Samantha Jones, the iconic character from "Sex and the City," with her figure-hugging dresses, designer shades, and killer stilettoes. Sylvie is truly a fashion icon, and her style is something to aspire to.

It's true that we love Emily's explosion of color and shape, but who doesn't adore a good high heel together with a well-fitting and firm suit jacket? Silvie clothes speak for themselves, if we like something about her, it is that she makes us feel powerful and safe. If you want to feel just as powerful and keep your sexy side in the office, here are a few suggestions for you to get down to work!

MINDY

Zipper heiress turned au pair Mindy is portrayed by the stunning Ashley Park. Mindy exudes an infectiously fun and loving persona, with a fantastic taste to match. Her love for music and super chic style make her a total fashion icon. She's always seen in the most lavish outfits, trimmed in feathers and sequins, making every day feel special. Mindy is truly an inspiration for anyone looking to add some excitement and glamour to their lives.

I am absolutely in love with the iconic style of the Chinese star of the series! The color definitely triumphs once again, and Mindy is truly a shining star in Paris. I can't wait to see what amazing looks she'll come up with next. And speaking of amazing looks, who else was blown away by Mindy's boat party outfit? I know I certainly was! If you loved that look as much as I did, then you'll definitely want to check out the products that we recommend below. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

New Year, New Wardrobe!

Do you wish you had a more simple wardrobe? Are you itching to get rid of old and worn-out fast styles, discarded seasonal accessories, and other disposable items? It's time to make a new start.

Many of us can now fill our closets to the brim without breaking the budget thanks to fast fashion.
And yet, how many of us find ourselves moaning in the mornings that we have "nothing to wear"?!

At TWENTY4SEVENTRENDS we want to help you curate a perfect for any occasion capsule wardrobe.

What is a capsule wardrobe?

A capsule wardrobe consists of a small number of interchangeable clothing pieces that work well together. Classic pieces that never go out of style and are generally made up of neutral colours. A capsule wardrobe allows you to put together a range of ensembles with a limited number of items but don’t lose any of their wow.

Let’s create one.

The first step in developing a fantastic capsule wardrobe is to conduct a closet audit. Examine every item you own and determine what you wear frequently and what you never wear.

Ask yourself, "When was the last time I wore this?" for each piece of clothes. It won't be a terrific piece to add to your capsule wardrobe if you haven't worn it in a few months.

Consider your activities and way of life as well. This will provide you with valuable information on the types of clothes you wear on a daily basis.

Are you a stay-at-home parent? Do you have a 9-5 job? Are you working-out regularly? Depending on what you are doing with your time, you won’t need the same clothes.

After you've considered this, gather all of your favourite clothing items and consider why you like them. This will assist you in determining your personal style.

Here are some of our recommendations to get you going.

1. Blazer

2. Midi/Maxi Skirt

3. Platform Shoes

4. Knit Sweater

5. Logo Bag

6. Cashmere Co-ords

7. Leather Jacket

8. Trusted Timepiece

Christmas in London 2021

And in a blink of an eye, it is almost Christmas again. But after a whirlwind of a year, we are sure everyone is looking forward to celebrating the festive season more than ever. London gets into the festive spirit at Christmas, with all kinds of Christmas markets, theatre, and, of course, the world-famous Christmas lights.

Having lived in London for over 6 years nows, I've explored and experienced the best activities for the winter festivities… I’ve put together an insider's guide to make the most of your trip.

Christmas Markets

From the big daddy of Christmas markets: Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park to the more relaxed Winterville in Clapham Common – there are plenty of spots to do pre-Christmas shopping, slurp up mulled wine and eat all the Christmassy sweet treats that you could ask for.

Afternoon Tea

In my opinion, everyone should experience a swanky afternoon tea at least once in their lifetime. We recommend Claridges or The Ritz (the latter is my fave), it makes a perfect escape from the cold. Indulge in some exotic teas, classic finger sandwiches, and delicious fresh scones with clotted cream in glamorous surroundings.

Ice Skating

You know it’s almost Christmas in London when ice-skating rinks start popping up. The definition of festive fun, tie up your skates and wrap up warm! Ice skating is one of my favourite Christmas activities; there’s just something wonderfully romantic, festive, and fun about it. The venues are brilliantly decorated and all lit up in almost a fairytale-esque way! The Natural History Museum or Somerset House are my top choices!

Christmas Lights

Nothing signifies the approach of Christmas like the glow of seasonal street lights. As the nights get darker the lights truly light up the capital, and the great thing about the London Christmas lights is that they are completely and utterly free. Head over to Oxford St, Regent St, and Carnaby St to keep your holiday spirits high.

West End Pantomime

With theatres reopen and the lockdown cobwebs brushed away, a trip to the pantomime is a classic Christmas activity for families. London plays host to some of the best Christmas shows in the UK, from star-studded traditional pantos to modern twists there is a show for you. Be quick, seats are selling fast!

Shopping

Whether you prefer strolling through pop-up holiday bazaars or spending a full day at Harrod’s, this shopping capital has something for everyone on your list. I recommend making a trip to Liberty London to pick out unique beautiful gifts or head over to Dover Street Market to shop for innovative fashion-forward brands.

Winter Terrace

Among the many things London does exceptionally well is winter terraces. In between ice skating, shopping, and the general chaos that comes with the festive season, one of the best ways to spend Christmas in London is curled up somewhere warm with a glass of mulled wine. The capital is full of picturesque alfresco dining and drinking destinations.

So, there we are – the most fun things to do in London at Christmas. We want to make sure you have the Christmas you deserve, go forth and eat all the mince pies, washed down with lashings of mulled wine.

Stay Ahead of the Game with These Must-Have Men's Fashion Trends for Fall/Winter 2021

It's been quite a year, especially for the fashion industry with the pandemic and lockdowns worldwide. Designers had to think outside the box to showcase their collections. Last season we saw both physical and online shows for Spring/Summer. This Fall/Winter, designers have truly pushed the boundaries, reimagining and reinterpreting the basics. Let's take a closer look at the top names in Men's fashion for Fall/Winter 2021.

Tailoring with a Twist -

This upcoming Fall/Winter season, we can expect to see a refreshing take on classic tailoring. After the relaxed tailoring trend of Spring/Summer, designers like Dolce & Gabbana and Prada are introducing upgraded tailoring with a modern twist. Oversized blazers with zips and experimentation with fabrics and materials are just a few examples of this exciting trend. I can't wait to see what other innovations designers have in store for us!

Dolce & Gabbana

Dolce & Gabbana

XXL Pants -

I've noticed that wide leg pants have been a trend for a few seasons now. However, this time around they seem to be even more exaggerated and oversized. It's almost as if the designers are taking it to a whole new level. I've seen some fashion houses, like Dries Van Noten and Rick Owen, showcase these XXL pants in mostly neutral colors. It'll be interesting to see how this trend develops in the future.

Dries Van Noten

Safari Sandy Tones -

I am loving the beige to caramel trend this season! After a Spring/Summer full of bold colors, it's refreshing to see these soft and sandy tones take center stage. Zegna and Fendi killed it on the runway with their full sandy monochromatic looks. What I love most about this trend is how easy it is to incorporate into your wardrobe. Each piece is effortlessly stylish and versatile.

Fendi

Leather Obsessed -

I love the timeless and classic look of leather, and it's great to hear that it's making a comeback this season. Casablanca's double-breasted leather coat sounds like a stunning piece, and I can imagine it turning heads wherever it's worn. It's always exciting to see new trends emerge and I can't wait to see how people incorporate leather into their outfits this season.

Pyjama Day -

I totally agree that pyjamas and loungewear have become a go-to for many during the pandemic. It's great to see that designers are now incorporating these comfy clothes into everyday looks. I've heard that Tom Ford has done an amazing job of making pyjamas stylish, which is a game-changer for those of us who want to be comfortable and fashionable at the same time. It's nice to know that we don't have to ditch our comfies just yet!

Mini Bags -

I totally agree with you! Big bags and luggage can be a hassle to carry around, especially when you're constantly on the go. The mini bag is the perfect solution! I love the fact that we only need to carry what's necessary, and Etro's mini bags are not only practical but stylish as well. Whether you choose to hold it or hang it around your body, these bags are efficient and versatile. I'm definitely going to invest in one!

Y2K Fashion Finds: How Gen Z is Reviving Thrifting with Retro Style

As a millennial, I thought I adapted to change quickly. I thought we were the trendy generation but I guess times have changed and the new kids on the block are taking over! Gen Z is making waves in the world of fashion and there is no way to ignore them. This is most evident on TikTok, where Gen Z users are taking a stand when it comes to style. Of course, there are some Gen Z-approved trends that I've now fully embraced. It's refreshing to see how innovative and creative they are with their style choices. It's not just about following the latest trends for them, it's about expressing their individuality and pushing boundaries. I've noticed that they're not afraid to mix and match different patterns and colors, and they're not limited by gender norms either. It's inspiring to see how confident they are in their choices and how they're not afraid to stand out from the crowd. I'm excited to see what else Gen Z has in store when it comes to fashion, and I'm definitely taking notes. Who knows, maybe I'll even be able to keep up with them one day!

Y2K

As I start thinking ahead to my summer wardrobe, I can't help but notice that Y2K trends are making a comeback. The style of the 2000s is back and it's impossible to ignore! I'm talking hot pink everything, bedazzled logos, teeny-tiny bags, denim on denim, and of course, Juicy Couture. It's like I'm reliving my childhood all over again.

Baby Tees

Teeny tiny tees are usually cropped above the belly button…

Baguette Bags

The iconic baguette bag is a true symbol of the Y2K aesthetic… thanks to Carrie Bradshaw.

Pleated Skirts

The pleated skirt is a cult classic from the 2000s.

Bella Hadid, Kylie Jenner, and Dua Lipa are some of the fans of the Y2K style that is dominating the season.

Maximalist

Welcome to the Summer of Maximalist Prints! It seems that more is definitely more in this age of isolation and digital connection. Before the pandemic, fashion was all about less being more. But now, we're seeing a return to bold colors, textures, and silhouettes flooding our social media feeds. Maximalist dressing has always been a part of the fashion world, but it's definitely having a moment right now. Are you excited to embrace the trend?

Psychedelic Swirls

Psychedelic print, help to evolve last summer’s tie-dye obsession.

Retro Florals

Floral prints used in the collections are reminiscent of ‘60s textiles.

Checking In

Social Media stars have already given their stamp of approval on bold graphic print trends.

Vintage Clothing

It's fascinating to see how younger consumers are becoming more conscious about social and environmental causes. They are looking for ways to reduce their reliance on fast fashion and embrace sustainable buying habits. Vintage clothing is definitely a trend that has taken the world by storm, especially with the rise of Gen-Z habits. It's all about finding rare and pre-loved pieces that are authentic, unique, and help develop a personal style that no one else has. The y2k trend, in particular, is all about thrifting exact, original pieces from the 2000s. It's great to see that vintage clothing is officially here to stay!

Bye Bye Skinny Jeans

I've noticed that skinny jeans are no longer as popular among Gen Z. It seems that many people are opting for a more relaxed and comfortable look, with baggy silhouettes becoming the new go-to. It's not surprising, really - when comfort is key, tight denim just doesn't cut it.

Mykonos is the perfect place for a luxury sun-soaked escape, you could spend all day lounging at one of the island’s famous private beach clubs and then hit the town for dinner and late drinks.

Spend your morning sunbathing and swimming to your heart’s content. For a late lunch, throw on your boho-chic cover-up and head over to one of the iconic beach clubs. The warm Greek weather mixed with the strong winds of Mykonos makes for a great day spent partying on the beach in the sun.

After lunch, take a stroll through the narrow and picturesque streets of Mykonos Old Town. Get lost in the beautiful town, discover the iconic windmills overlooking the sea, and indulge in the 16th-century history of the island.

For shopping lovers, strolling the streets of Mykonos is an afternoon well spent, treat yourself to anything from a local Greek brand to an international designer at a one-stop destination.

Mykonos has a thriving food scene, thanks to many outstanding dining spots where the islands’ abundant fresh produce is masterfully blended with Mediterranean flavors, to offer visitors a truly unique dining experience. The choices are endless, make sure to reserve ahead of time.

Lovers of luxury will find a great range of world-class hotels and resorts to choose from, with many of the best options being located right on the edge of the Aegean Sea and offering direct access to stunning sandy beaches.
