The History of Selfridges: Tracing the Origins and Growth of a British Retail Icon

Selfridges is one of London's most iconic department stores, renowned for its luxury goods and unique shopping experience. But how did it all begin? The history of Selfridges dates back to 1909 when an American entrepreneur named Harry Gordon Selfridge arrived in London with a vision to revolutionize the retail industry.

Selfridge's first move was to secure a prime location for his new store, which he found on Oxford Street. He then set about creating a shopping experience like no other, one that would entice customers with its luxury goods and innovative displays. He employed a team of architects and designers to create a stunning building that would stand out on the crowded street.

When Selfridges opened its doors in 1909, it immediately became a sensation. Customers were amazed by the store's luxury and attention to detail, with its elegant displays and luxurious goods. Selfridge's philosophy was to create a shopping experience that was more than just a transaction but a journey of discovery and pleasure.

Over the years, Selfridges has continued to innovate and evolve, introducing new products and services to keep up with changing consumer demands. Today, it remains one of the most iconic and beloved department stores in London, with a reputation for quality, luxury, and innovation that endures to this day.

In conclusion, the history of Selfridges is a story of vision, innovation, and daring. From its humble beginnings as a small store on Oxford Street, it has grown into an iconic institution synonymous with luxury and style. Whether you're a Londoner or a visitor to the city, a trip to Selfridges is an essential part of any shopping experience.

The 10 Most Instagrammable Places in London

London is an incredibly photogenic and a very Instagrammable city. There is an infinite number of floral covered cafés, colourful restaurants, and rustic and authentic streets. You’ll be sure to turn a corner and be able to capture that pic. It’s no wonder why the bloggers, influencers and basically anyone with an Instagram feed can look like a superstar.

Many of these shops adapt their décor for the seasons making them ever-changing and stunning that attracts anyone and everyone.

Peggy Porschen

The Peggy Porschen café is notoriously known for their pink exteriors and floral decorations that shot to fame due to social media. With such a unique layout and vibe, expect to wait in line to eat or take your photo. This place is definitely a great place to have brunch, a coffee or a cake, but it’s even better when you’ve captured your photo to go along with it.

Coppa Club

Coppa Club is that place to eat, drink, and unwind after a long week. With igloos right on the River Thames, offering views of the Shard and Tower Bridge. The igloos seat around 10 people, making it a great date night with your friends or family. It truly is a beautiful place in the day and at night, so be sure to book in advance to get a spot because it’s hands down one of London’s hotspots.

Neal’s Yard

Neal’s Yard is one of London’s hidden gems that many people are actually not aware about. You’ll pass cobblestone streets to get there, reminiscent of Harry Potter, and then you’ll find colourfully painted houses and small restaurants. This place gets packed quickly with tourists and locals, so I’d advise to gear down there early. I guess grab your pic and go!

Portobello Road

If you haven’t seen Notting Hill’s colourful houses on an Instagram feed then you don’t know London. Portobello Road is the road where you will find these beautiful shades of pink, teal, light blue houses on the main road. It’s not just Balamory that has colourful houses. Notting Hill is truly an iconic place, not only for their carnival but they’re beautiful homes.

Keep in mind that these are people's homes so be as respectful as possible, and please don’t disturb their peace just for some clout..

Sky Garden

High up above London, sits the building known as the Walkie Talkie due to its unique shape. The skyscraper features a top-floor restaurant, tropical garden and sweeping views of the entire city. Here you can experience London from a spectacular viewpoint and capture the most insane pictures. Access to the Sky Garden is free of charge but spaces are limited so be quick!

Sketch

Sketch in Mayfair is London’s destination for food, drinks, music, and art. For many years Sketch was famous for its iconic pink interiors, with the pastel walls and its artwork. However, the place has since received a makeover, and now the space is lavished in golden, sunny hues.

This place is the definition of an Instagrammable hotspot. You won’t lack in having the most radiant of vibes for your pictures to post on Instagram feed.

The Shard

The Shard is now the tallest building in the United Kingdom, houses London’s Shangri-La, bars, and observation deck. Grab a drink and watch the sun set in the distance. Don’t forget to capture these memories for your feed.

Tate Modern

One of the most photogenic museums in London, displaying modern and contemporary art. See work by Picasso, Rothko, Dali and Matisse for free and check the latest installation of the Turbine Hall. Create brilliant TikToks and take the most artistic pictures.

Covent Garden

Covent Garden has always been photogenic and edgy but, in recent years they’ve added lots of Instagrammable props such as a wheelbarrow filled with flowers for your use. Surrounded by shops and food spots, you’re certainly chanced with capturing beautiful images.

The nearby area around Neal Street and Seven Dials also has pretty Instagrammable streets. You’re spoilt for choice!

Tower Bridge

Tower Bridge is one of the most Instagrammable places in London, as one of the most iconic spots in the country. You can walk along the promenade and capture a picture there or from both the north and south side of the Thames river.

Head to Butler’s Wharf Pier for a hidden and less crowded walkway with better views of the bridge.

There’s a lot of beauty that we’ve showcased here, but rest assured knowing there’s much more than all this to unpack in London. If you want help organising a trip to London, and fancy visiting places a bit different to what you’ve seen here today, then please do not hesitate to get in touch. We are here to help 24/7.

Exploring the Wonders of Louis Vuitton SS23: Virgil Abloh's Yellow Brick Road of Imagination

The fashion world was mesmerized by the late Virgil Abloh's imaginative designs during the Paris Fashion Week runway show. It was a perfect blend of classic Abloh tropes and house signatures, with a reinterpretation of classics. The show was graced by famous faces, including Kendrick Lamar, who performed live with the FAMU Marching band. With the unfortunate passing of Virgil Abloh in November 2021, many wondered what would happen to Louis Vuitton. The Fall/Winter 2022 collection brought the late designer's dreams to life in a performance-led runway. Now, all eyes are on the Spring/Summer 2023 collection to see what the future holds for the iconic fashion house.

Louis Vuitton really outdid themselves at Paris Fashion Week this year. The opening was so cinematic and powerful, with a piece called "Strange Math" that explored the connection between imagination and reality. One part that stood out was the Florida A&M University marching band, who were all dressed in black, performing in an alternate reality version of Paris. It was amazing to watch. And then, just like that, they were transported into the live show at the Cour Carrée of the Louvre. It was all so breathtaking and unforgettable.

Louis Vuitton SS23 was an incredible show! The Marching 100 gave an outstanding performance in their FAMU uniform, and even wore some custom Louis Vuitton gear. As the models hit the runway, an orchestral opening of Kendrick Lamar's tracks filled the room, paying tribute to the late designer. Lamar even included a chant of "Virgil" in his performance, alongside his own hits like "N95". Overall, it was an unforgettable experience!

I recently attended a fashion show where I was blown away by some of the stunning designs. One of my favorites was a soft lilac suit that opened the show. The suit had darted collars, wide shoulders, and slim sleeves, while the exaggerated lapels and floral buttons added a unique touch. The matching trousers, clean white shirt, and chrome, mirrored, and white 3D LV logo briefcase completed the look perfectly. Following this delightful lilac suit was another standout piece - a brushed mohair coat. This beautiful and simple white overcoat was delicately adorned with purple flowers, making it an instant eye-catcher.

I was browsing through the SS23 collection and noticed an impressive selection of varsity garments. One jacket in particular caught my attention: a vibrant orange leather jacket adorned with playful puzzle shapes. It was a unique and eye-catching piece. I also saw models sporting Louis Vuitton sound systems either strapped to their backs or protruding from their shoulders. It was a clever nod to Abloh's love for music and architectural design. Overall, it was an impressive collection.

Louis Vuitton SS23 showcased a remarkable playground of fashion. It was an event that celebrated the genius of Virgil Abloh and the Menswear Design team. The show was a beautiful tribute to Abloh's incredible vision and his impact on the fashion industry. From the opening matching band to the final moments, the runway was a testament to his artistic genius. Abloh's legacy will continue to inspire and influence the fashion world for many years to come.

The Nike x Jacquemus Autumn 2022 Collection Is Here!

The world stops for Jacquemus, as the latest fashion collaboration with Nike officially launches!

After a show in Hawaii with mostly local guests, Simon Porte Jacquemus, and his guests landed in the salt mountains of Camargue park in the South of France for his fall 2022 collection titled ’Le Papier’. The show was packed with international buyers, press, stylists, models, and of course, celebrities. The location appeared in a manner that was truly otherworldly, emulating a moon-like world: clear water, icy salt, lilac sky. These gauzy far-off spaces creating an alternative perspective on reality is what Jacquemus truly carved for his show.

Jacquemus had carved out a runway that wound down a hillside. His models descended from the top of the mount with their trains whipping in the wind. The tulle veils blew in the wind looking like extras in Dune. According to Jacquemus, “(I) started working on the collection with the obsession to restart from nothing, like a white page”. The first things that came from his new perspective for his collection were the ideas of comfort and couture; “every couture” he elaborated.

That white page of brand new fresh ideas filled the runway quickly, displaying 61 looks in total. Shearling coats, puffer vests, and cargo pants that were loosened up for a more serene and spirited shape to help display his new Humana sneaker in collaboration with Nike. For women, his simplest ideas are the best, like a white tulle midis dress with a piece of burlap-covered canvas tied around its front for a pure, maidenly look.

There was truly something for everyone.

It’s been a busy summer for fashion collaborations, and Jacquemus has been no exception. There was no way he was going to be one to miss out. Nike x Jacquemus is a 15-piece collection that mixes elevated silhouettes with athletic and everyday staples in versatile neutral tones.

“We designed women’s athletic wear with sensuous details and neutral colours, along with my own interpretation of the Humara, my favourite Nike shoe,” - Jacquemus

The French brand wanted to make sure that the collection was ”accessible for all bodies, and to be a natural blend of Jacquemus style and Nike performance”.  In the words of Jacquemus himself, “I want to be the name of my generation”, and he is surely a contender to be exactly that.

Like what you see? Fancy getting your hands on some of the items? If you need assistance, we are more than happy to lend a helping hand, no matter the request. From finding you the perfect new wardrobe, to the holiday of your dreams, and everything in between. Let us relieve you of that stress so you can sit back and relax. The Central Saint Martins 2022 Grads Breaking Boundaries

Central Saint Martins 2022 had a double-decker runway, 115 student collections, and even Madonna in the front row. The Central Saint Martins fashion class of 2022 was a fiercely uplifting myriad of mobile sculptures, vibrant colours, and outward Gen Z thinking.

The wide variations of 3D shapes kept coming: huge hoods and horizontal four-foot wide head-dresses, kites, spiralling cages, cylinders, panniers, hoops, and wadded, padded and pointy structures made out of everything from crochet to bioplastic. Is it a generational revolution against two years of being imprisoned at home that has forced the students' creativity to experiment with techniques to express their very own fantasies?

Together they sent fashion’s normalcy of ‘oversize’ wear into a completely different dimension.

A look by first runner-up Emil Dernbach, BA Fashion Womenswear

Diana Sträng , BA Fashion Design with Marketing, picked up the second runner-up prize for her trio of looks

The three winners of the L’Oréal Professional Young Talent Award certainly reflected that originality. Winners: Emil Dernbach with his sleek sculptural silver metal dress, Diana Sträng, and Alice Morrell-Evans with their use of knitwear, crochet, textiles and drapery. If you’re searching for a place where boundaries are always pushed to their limits and creativity is expressed to its depth, be assured that Central Saint Martins is the right place for you.

There’s certainly more than meets the eye to many of the looks that appeared on the runway. Mata Durikovic made a pastel-coloured collection that included a sparkle-trimmed plastic mac, made out of bioplastic. Durikovic wanted to make garments that were “cookable at home, also edible and degradable in your garden!”.

Mata Durikovic grew a bio-plastic ‘leather’ herself

Paulo Guarino wanted to capture his “Sicilian heritage through the queer lenses [that he] developed in London”. He smothered his group of models in other-worldly textural paints and plaster in which they then exuded a cloud of powder at the end of the runway. Guarino’s aimed to make his people look like crumbling sculptures in an abandoned Sicily, and succeeded.

Paulo Guarino’s model at the end of the runway exuding a cloud of powder

This cohort of students pulled off a transformative unique vision of promise for the future. They subverted the norm and created a new view of the world through their very own lenses. After almost an hour of watching this spectacle of fashion, the audience still lingered and congratulated the CSM teachers and students. It is safe to say the class of 2022 triumphed, with many great and refreshing minds entering the fashion world. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for this new batch of designers.

Madonna and FKA twigs in the front row

Jaquemus X Nike - The Most Anticipated Collaboration

In the past few months we have observed various collaborations from most of the top houses of the moment. Gucci has been very busy from launching a new drop with The North Face, collaborating with Balenciaga, and even leaving us dead with a campaign with Adidas. And lest we forget Fendi and Versace making Fendace. Without a doubt, this has been the year of collaborations. We love it when such prestigious and magnificent brands unite their art to create something new.

Although we love each of the previous ones, there was one that left us speechless. The announcement of the next collaboration between the French brand Jaquemus and household favourite brand Nike.

This collaboration was announced through the social networks of both parties on May 16, and since then they have not stopped talking about them.

The collection has been inspired by various elements, the sensuality of women and the nature of the earth are some of them. In Simon Porte's designs we can see earth and nude colours. Such colours that we have seen in previous Jaquemus collections, but that we want to see how they fit in with the overall spirit of Nike.

The most desired piece has been without a doubt the sneakers. Even before they revealed the model, people were already wanting the trainers. That is unconditional love! But who are we kidding? We love each of Simon's models, and this collection is going to shine like all of them.

The shoes are inspired by a past Nike model; the Humara model launched in 1998. This time in beige and brown colours.

The collection will be available on June 27, but everyone is already preparing to start the summer with this new collection. Don't stay behind, because it’s one of the hottest items in the game!

Remember that your personal shopper is there to assist you, all you need do is contact them. Alternatively, you can contact us directly for our services. It’s easy, and stress free! We are here to help 24/7.

Prada Becomes the Latest Fashion Brand to Launch NFTs

Luxury fashion brand Prada is launching NFT's, available for free to those who purchase items from its Time Capsule initiative.

The NFT will be part of the brands ongoing Time Capsule initiative which was originally launched in December 2019. It drops limited edition physical products on Prada's e-commerce site on the first Friday of every month.

Prada dropped shirts on their website that comes with a free NFT that is designed like a pill capsule and backed up on the Ethereum blockchain. There will be 100 shirts and NFTs in total.

The new clothing range has been designed by artist Cassius Hirst. You can grab either a black or white button-down unisex shirt. These gender-neutral shirts, featuring Hirst's signature mask and brain scan designs, will be paired with NFTs of a GIF that shows a black or white time capsule. These NFTs will feature a unique serial number corresponding with the physical item.

Loyalty and rewards are a key part to Prada's NFT strategy. Anyone that has purchased previous or recent NFT's will also be gifted exclusive benefits and experiences. These exact rewards are yet to be revealed on the brand's new community server “Prada Crypted” and their website.

“There is a synergy between the Prada Time Capsule and the scarcity and desirability of NFTs” Prada said in a statement.

As it seems NFTs are the new phenomenon that luxury brands are getting their hands on. “Many people in luxury made the mistake in the past thinking that it was not so relevant Like social media, I don’t think that NFTs are good or bad, but they are a digital tool and it depends on how you use them,” Lorenzo Bertelli, previously told Vogue Business.

In recent years, the community of luxury brands to dabble into NFTs has been growing exponentially. Whether you like the growing trend in NFTs or not, they seem to be here to stay regardless. They may even be a worthy investment for the future. We expect Prada’s new collection will sell out fast so act quickly, or you may miss out forever.

We strive to help where we can, and if you need our help we will certainly do our best. Contact us directly via email or through your personal shopper with any enquiries you may have. We look forward to hearing from you. We are here to help 24/7.

A-Listers Make Stylish Entrances to Elite Racing Event

The Monaco Grand Prix in Monte Carlo saw a great number of a-list celebrity guests. Ranging from the likes of Heidi Klum, Naomi Campbell, to Kit Harrington and other celebrities. They all brought out their most fashionable ensembles. The A-listers made their stylish arrival to the racing event, sporting some of their best pieces.

German Supermodel Heidi Klum showcased her bold sense of style in a colourful print jumpsuit. The TV host looked effortlessly beautiful in a pair of oversized sunglasses and cap. The pair looked wonderful together, donning big smiles as well as wonderful outfits.

Meanwhile, Naomi went braless in a chic grey maxi dress with mesh panels displaying her toned legs and Nike dunks. Nobody does it quite like Naomi does, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!

Kit Harrington went for a more simple approach, wearing a white t-shirt and stylish striped trousers. Very casual and relaxed! We say a very old and true saying, if it’s not broken then don’t fix it! Kit wears the kit wear. It’s simple, but effective.

Lewis Hamilton put on another stylish display as he wore a beige baggy shirt encrusted in tiny diamonds by Valentino, with coordinating beige trousers. Lewis also donned a pair of tinted sunglasses while his hair was braided and tied back into a manbun. Hamilton is known for his unique sense of fashion almost as well as his career choices. Much like with racing, his fashion sense lives the fast life too. He donned many outfits, but this is our personal favourite.

Bridgerton star Simone Ashley and Euphoria star Jacob Eldridge dressed to impress as they arrived at the star studded event. The Bridgerton star wowed in a plunging blue top and matching bandana. Meanwhile, Jacob sported a retro beige Gulf jacket, white t-shirt and beige trousers. Casual fashion has never looked so good!

Also in attendance at the Grand Prix was model, and socialite Charlotte Casiraghi. Charlotte wore a Chanel light grey sleeveless mini dress with a pair of red-framed sunglasses. Stunning I think we can all agree.

Making an impression is one thing, however looking stylish and fabulous whilst doing it is what these A-listers are doing well at. Everyone in attendance managed to to wow the crowd in their own unique ways with their individual styles.

For more celebrity news stay posted for all the latest fashion news. If you like the looks of any outfits that the A-listers were donning, do not hesitate to contact us via your personal shopper or email us directly. We will do our best ton find the outfits, rare or not, so that you can relax. We are here to help 24/7.

Kourtney Kardashian Weds Travis Barker in Corseted Dolce & Gabbana Dress

Have you heard the news? Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker have finally tied the knot in Portofino, Italy! It's been all over the internet, with plenty of style posts documenting Kourtney and her family's couture-filled trip to Italy. The bride looked absolutely stunning in her custom Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda lace and satin corset mini dress. It was inspired by 1960s Italian lingerie and featured a sweeping long tulle veil. The headpiece was hand embroidered with flowers inspired by the Mediterranean gardens, as well as the likeness of the Virgin Mary. Barker's tattoo with the text "Family, Loyalty, Respect" was also incorporated into the design. Kourtney finished off her elegant look with a pair of tulle gloves and lace pumps. Barker wasn't too shabby either, wearing a black double-breasted jacket with peaked lapels and classic trousers with pressed crease and side-band, both in superfine Italian black wool with tuxedo detail in black silk satin. It was a wedding designed to perfection!

The wedding was absolutely breathtaking! It took place on the stunning estate of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana in Villa Olivetta. With the picturesque castellated tower, luxurious décor, sweeping coastal views, and clear blue skies, it truly was the epitome of an Italian romantic dream come true. The wedding itself was adorned with grand themes and decorations, exuding that sense of a fairy tale wedding in style.

One of the most fascinating aspects of the wedding was Kourtney's custom Dolce & Gabbana wedding dress, which was filled with hidden meaningful details for those who paid close attention. The beautiful embroidery on the back of the dress was done with the ‘cross stitch’ technique, and served as a loving tribute to her husband Travis’ tattoo on his scalp, which symbolizes alliance, respect, and devotion. It was the perfect symbol of love, respect, alliance, and devotion for a special loved one to cherish for years to come.

Oh my goodness, have you seen Kourtney Kardashian's most recent wedding photos? They are absolutely stunning! I can't believe how beautiful the ceremony was, with her siblings, children, and other family members all in attendance. The altar was a gorgeous red color and had a grand gold scaffolding, as well as multiple candles. It was such a romantic setting for Kourtney and her new spouse, who were getting married for the third time. I also loved the video she shared of them hugging and swaying to Andrea Bocelli's 'Can't Help Falling in Love'. It was just so sweet and heartfelt.

But let's talk about Kourtney's outfits for a second. She truly embraced the La Dolce Vita style while in Italy and looked absolutely stunning. In one photo, she's wearing a black mini dress with imagery of the Virgin Mary on the bodice, complete with a gothic black veil. And later, she switched into a sheer, red floor-length gown from Dolce & Gabbana's spring/summer 1998 collection. She looked like a true Italian goddess!

It's true that not everyone would choose to get married in lingerie or extravagant gothic lace, but what Kim Kardashian has shown us is that wedding fashion is all about personal style and breaking the rules. We wish the newlyweds all the best as they embark on their journey together. Congratulations Kravis!

A simple white dress may not seem like much, but the perfect one can cure all summer style problems. They allow for endless accessorising options and never go out of fashion.

Versace BAROCCO GODDESS SILK MINISKIRT

A lavish baroque print is something of a calling card for Versace. Gently pleated, the Barocco Goddess skirt has a high-rise waist, side button fastening, and is made from silk.

Be sure to illuminate the room in this Versace mini skirt. The supermodels of the 90’s would've been proud to wear a mini like this, with well over half of the thigh exposed beneath the brief slip of fabric. Let your legs be the statement in this Versace miniskirt.

Oséree SEQUIN HIGH-RISE WIDE-LEG PANTS

These wide-leg pants from Oséree are ideal for slipping over the label's bikinis. The pool to party style is fully embellished with pink sequins and has a flattering high-rise.

This is an undeniably elegant piece tailored for the luxurious woman. Perhaps a piece best-suited to those that are bold and daring  looking to have fun with fashion. Pair these pants with a crop top, vest or bralette.

When it comes to summer style, less is more. French theorist Roland Barthes once concluded “Is not the most erotic portion of the body where the garment gapes?”. Barthes would be astounded by the amount of flesh on show, but you would surely feel your most illustrious. Short, sheer and sexy is ready to take its place this summer.

Stay Ahead of the Game with These Must-Have Men's Fashion Trends for Fall/Winter 2021

It's been quite a year, especially for the fashion industry with the pandemic and lockdowns worldwide. Designers had to think outside the box to showcase their collections. Last season we saw both physical and online shows for Spring/Summer. This Fall/Winter, designers have truly pushed the boundaries, reimagining and reinterpreting the basics. Let's take a closer look at the top names in Men's fashion for Fall/Winter 2021.

Tailoring with a Twist -

This upcoming Fall/Winter season, we can expect to see a refreshing take on classic tailoring. After the relaxed tailoring trend of Spring/Summer, designers like Dolce & Gabbana and Prada are introducing upgraded tailoring with a modern twist. Oversized blazers with zips and experimentation with fabrics and materials are just a few examples of this exciting trend. I can't wait to see what other innovations designers have in store for us!

XXL Pants -

I've noticed that wide leg pants have been a trend for a few seasons now. However, this time around they seem to be even more exaggerated and oversized. It's almost as if the designers are taking it to a whole new level. I've seen some fashion houses, like Dries Van Noten and Rick Owen, showcase these XXL pants in mostly neutral colors. It'll be interesting to see how this trend develops in the future.

Safari Sandy Tones -

I am loving the beige to caramel trend this season! After a Spring/Summer full of bold colors, it's refreshing to see these soft and sandy tones take center stage. Zegna and Fendi killed it on the runway with their full sandy monochromatic looks. What I love most about this trend is how easy it is to incorporate into your wardrobe. Each piece is effortlessly stylish and versatile.

Leather Obsessed -

I love the timeless and classic look of leather, and it's great to hear that it's making a comeback this season. Casablanca's double-breasted leather coat sounds like a stunning piece, and I can imagine it turning heads wherever it's worn. It's always exciting to see new trends emerge and I can't wait to see how people incorporate leather into their outfits this season.

Pyjama Day -

I totally agree that pyjamas and loungewear have become a go-to for many during the pandemic. It's great to see that designers are now incorporating these comfy clothes into everyday looks. I've heard that Tom Ford has done an amazing job of making pyjamas stylish, which is a game-changer for those of us who want to be comfortable and fashionable at the same time. It's nice to know that we don't have to ditch our comfies just yet!

Mini Bags -

I totally agree with you! Big bags and luggage can be a hassle to carry around, especially when you're constantly on the go. The mini bag is the perfect solution! I love the fact that we only need to carry what's necessary, and Etro's mini bags are not only practical but stylish as well. Whether you choose to hold it or hang it around your body, these bags are efficient and versatile. I'm definitely going to invest in one!

Y2K Fashion Finds: How Gen Z is Reviving Thrifting with Retro Style

As a millennial, I thought I adapted to change quickly. I thought we were the trendy generation but I guess times have changed and the new kids on the block are taking over! Gen Z is making waves in the world of fashion and there is no way to ignore them. This is most evident on TikTok, where Gen Z users are taking a stand when it comes to style. Of course, there are some Gen Z-approved trends that I've now fully embraced. It's refreshing to see how innovative and creative they are with their style choices. It's not just about following the latest trends for them, it's about expressing their individuality and pushing boundaries. I've noticed that they're not afraid to mix and match different patterns and colors, and they're not limited by gender norms either. It's inspiring to see how confident they are in their choices and how they're not afraid to stand out from the crowd. I'm excited to see what else Gen Z has in store when it comes to fashion, and I'm definitely taking notes. Who knows, maybe I'll even be able to keep up with them one day!

Y2K

As I start thinking ahead to my summer wardrobe, I can't help but notice that Y2K trends are making a comeback. The style of the 2000s is back and it's impossible to ignore! I'm talking hot pink everything, bedazzled logos, teeny-tiny bags, denim on denim, and of course, Juicy Couture. It's like I'm reliving my childhood all over again.

Baby Tees

Teeny tiny tees are usually cropped above the belly button…

Baguette Bags

The iconic baguette bag is a true symbol of the Y2K aesthetic… thanks to Carrie Bradshaw.

Pleated Skirts

The pleated skirt is a cult classic from the 2000s.

Bella Hadid, Kylie Jenner, and Dua Lipa are some of the fans of the Y2K style that is dominating the season.

Maximalist

Welcome to the Summer of Maximalist Prints! It seems that more is definitely more in this age of isolation and digital connection. Before the pandemic, fashion was all about less being more. But now, we're seeing a return to bold colors, textures, and silhouettes flooding our social media feeds. Maximalist dressing has always been a part of the fashion world, but it's definitely having a moment right now. Are you excited to embrace the trend?

Psychedelic Swirls

Psychedelic print, help to evolve last summer’s tie-dye obsession.

Retro Florals

Floral prints used in the collections are reminiscent of ‘60s textiles.

Checking In

Social Media stars have already given their stamp of approval on bold graphic print trends.

Vintage Clothing

It's fascinating to see how younger consumers are becoming more conscious about social and environmental causes. They are looking for ways to reduce their reliance on fast fashion and embrace sustainable buying habits. Vintage clothing is definitely a trend that has taken the world by storm, especially with the rise of Gen-Z habits. It's all about finding rare and pre-loved pieces that are authentic, unique, and help develop a personal style that no one else has. The y2k trend, in particular, is all about thrifting exact, original pieces from the 2000s. It's great to see that vintage clothing is officially here to stay!

Bye Bye Skinny Jeans

I've noticed that skinny jeans are no longer as popular among Gen Z. It seems that many people are opting for a more relaxed and comfortable look, with baggy silhouettes becoming the new go-to. It's not surprising, really - when comfort is key, tight denim just doesn't cut it.
